Skulduggery Pleasant is one of my top three series of all time. It's blend of humour & action within an Armageddon-prone word is fascinatingly distinct. I mean seriously - I haven't read anything quite like this. (As an added bonus: Oprah Put it on her book club list. Yes, THE OPRAH.)
The fact that this series is coming to an end saddens me. Knowing Derek Landy's work, he won't go easy on us simply because it's his last SP novel. People will get hurt - people will die, and the fate of our dynamic duo is very much in the air.
This'll be interesting.
SP is my favourite series of books and I am torn between dread and delight in the run up to book 9.
ReplyDeleteAs you say Landy is renown for killing off significant characters so nothing is certain and everything is left to play for.
God alone knows what I shall read when Book 9 is done and dusted.
Whatever happens I know it will be an emotional roller coaster, and by the end of it I am fairly sure I will be screaming at the pages NOOOOOOOO.
